Introduction
On this page you will find brief “daily” posts written with little editing. The latter posts tend to build upon ideas that have been developed in earlier posts, so while reading from the beginning is not essential it is recommended. They are something of an experiment with automatic writing from a quiescent mind. Perhaps semiautomatic writing would be a more accurate description, because once I begin to write I can’t avoid but have my mind engaged. I understand this to be a good thing because to not have the mind engaged would be to give free reign in the mind to whatever potential mischievous forces or entities (if such things exist) that might want to take advantage of such a state. I believe it is important as one engages in such an endeavor as this to remain involved as a discriminating force, as best as one can decipher, in favor of the good, the beautiful and the true .
My practice is as follows:
I begin by reading some inspirational material. (See the Influences page for what material.)
After a bit of reading I meditate and practice being still in body and mind. This is still a great challenge for me and genuine stillness is rarely achieved and even more rarely held for more than a few moments. My aim is to have a positive stillness that is filled with the sublime goodness of the Creator. (A negative or total emptiness is not a recommended goal as this could invite unwanted and unscrupulous influences.)
When finished with the meditation time I attempt to hold the quiescence as I go to the computer to write. I wait for a question to come to mind and then ask it and wait for an answer and then write that. Sometimes the answerer just begins before I have even asked a question. (My questioning is in regular type in a light gray color and the answers I have put in bold type in a sky blue color.)
The longer I am engaged in this practice the more my experience is that throughout the day a question may come to mind and immediately answers begin to flow forth into my waiting brain. It is as though a pathway is established from the soul into the mind and subsequently into the physical brain thus establishing a conduit as it were. The practice of writing the material down further creates a habit for the brain to be ready as a receiver, ready and tuned for reception to the soul’s channel.
This clearly is something one can do only for themselves. No amount of reading other people’s writing or listening to other people’s talk is going to establish a link to the soul like sitting in the stillness and asking questions and attempting to take notes on the answers that come from within one’s self. There is no substitution for doing this activity yourself. So, if you are inclined to read my material here, I ask you to not stop with that but to take this material as merely an example of what you can do for yourself, given some practice and discipline. Above all else I think this is something that anyone can do successfully if they practice Maitreya’s keys to Self realization: honesty of mind, sincerity of spirit, and detachment. To do this is to proactively establish in your life a pattern of practice that increases your capacity for soul contact. You can never regret the joy that comes from such contact with the Higher Self.
For an incomplete list of what is currently influencing my point of view and for what in the past still resonates with me please see the Influences page.
I do not directly quote these sources in the following journalings ( I do quote the Bible from time to time. Because of my upbringing I can recall many of the sayings found there without having to stop and look them up so I do use them though they may not be word for word.) Much, however, of whatever wisdom may be contained below, I have come to, at least in part, through immersion in (and corroboration of in my own experience) the works listed on the Influences page. For the writers of such material I am very grateful and can only hope that posting my writing in this way may serve a similar purpose of inspiration for at least a few.
That said, clearly not all sources are equal in their representation of the truth and my listing does not necessarily constitute recommended reading. I recognize you must choose for yourself what it is that resonates in your heart.
Also, none of my words below can necessarily be taken to represent the teachings of any of the particular influences listed on my influences page. My words should be considered a collaboration of these influences with, merely, my own interpretation and inspiration, such as it is.
Some may judge the material below to be absolute balderdash and anything but representing honesty of mind. Thankfully, this is something that each must discern for themselves. For me, the words below are a mixed expression of the impulse of my Higher Self inevitably translated through the interference of my regular thinking mind – especially since I am still not very good at holding still! (I consider holding the mind in positive stillness essential to conscious reception of the Impulse from the Higher Self) I offer these words for your perusal if they interest you. Perhaps you will sometime try it for yourself (being still and then attempting to write from the still small voice) if you have not already.
Please do not take any of what is written below as the truth simply on the basis of the form or guise that it is written in. The guise is only that and as form is not necessarily an accurate representation of spirit. Recognizing the fallibility of the the form, I make no claims as to how authentically the words below are from my Higher Self or from an ascended master, Christ or God. Take them lightly as merely the musings of Will Treelighter on his stump, playing like God can talk to him, until you have seen whether they are true or not with your own “eyes”. You must take it upon yourself to corroborate through your own practice and experience any truth that appears to be expressed below, or for that matter, any truth expressed anywhere.
If you find within yourself some corroboration of the ideas presented below so that you deem them to be true or wise or what have you, know that only the One Source is truly wise and good and do not confuse the issue by thinking it came from me or you apart from the One.
