I took a nap yesterday after lunch. As I lapse into dreaming I see for a moment how the mind makes up stories (through judgment) about everything. This is how dreams come about. In a sense the mind is in free fall and makes up stories about whatever residual input and judgments the mind is occupied with. But it becomes clear to me that this is also how our “waking reality” gets put together. It is more reliably consistent than our dreams because of the group “effort” of all of humanity, not to mention that of nature, but is no less a dream. All of it is brought about by the perception of the senses and judgments of the mind (and all the miniature energetic substances – atoms, photons, etc., combined in all the various ways we have given names to –minerals, plants, animals). We mistake this to be reality. We all agree that it is solid and real but it is really an elaborate mass illusion that is an obstacle to awareness of the “truly real” spiritual reality of our being that is the basis for, and that upholds the apparatus of, our bodies and minds and all physical “reality” that we mistake to be our true and only selves and our true and only world.
When we are fully present in awareness to our spiritual reality (through a mental body trained on spirit in cooperation with the intuitive body and a third, spiritual, body that focuses the will) it will slowly dawn on us that even this spiritual reality is not the truly real. We will only be able to begin to see from that level of awareness that a still finer “substance” (call it the Divine) is the basis for and the upholder of the spiritual. We will then seek to “wake” from even the spiritual level of awareness that we may comprehend the Divine. So it appears we are the Divine dreaming we are spiritual “body” in a spiritual world that in turn is dreaming that we are a physical body in a physical world that is often asleep and dreaming still more.

“Come to the gate of Heaven empty handed”
You have been thinking of this as something to prepare for in the future, for when you have arrived at the gate upon passing from the earth plane. This is a mistake. Heaven is at hand now. The gate is ever before you. Come empty handed to Me now in this moment and I open My Divinity before you as You and all about You for That is What You truly Are. I Am What You truly Are. When You put anything else before Me I can not be present to you for you have become deluded into thinking that I Am not present to you by Your very act of putting something else before Me. This is the meaning of “The Lord your God is a jealous God.” I Am You, but if you have shut Me out you cannot experience Me. Experiencing Me is pure heaven for it is coming home to Your true Self. Welcome Home!
Your quiet stillness in meditation is the removal of all that you have placed before me. There I await You. Free your bodies of their desires for things other than the Divine. The senses desire constantly to be stimulated. The palette desires the taste of all manner of fine and not so fine food. The stomach constantly craves to be full. The eyes steadfastly seek the light of day and yet See nothing but darkness. The body wants the touch of another but is unable to touch another’s soul. The nose seeks sweetness and the ears love music. The emotions want to be moved so you seek out music and movies that entertain the senses and spark emotion. The mind loves argument and so judges what is right and wrong and seeks out the stimulation of the intellect.
All this I have placed before You for Your enjoyment, for Your heaven, and it is good. But when you place these things before Me you lose your Self and delude yourself into the idea of separation from Me.
I have a mission for You. Free Yourself of these cravings of the bodies in which I have placed You. Then find ways to help others free Themselves. The key is in this second step for the easiest way to free yourself is to, yes meditate, but that is useless if you do not then turn to serve your brothers and sisters. I await you. I seek you out. I reach and stretch for you. I hold you close. Accept My Embrace.

“You are the light of the world.” When you are free of all your cravings and so of self-centeredness “Your light so shines before men” that all are inspired and will seek to follow after. This perhaps is the last temptation – to see oneself as leader, a worldly king, thinking you are spiritual, laying down rules, prescribing doctrine. No, this is not Your destiny. Encourage others inspired by the Light to seek it within themselves for each must come to it themselves by there own means, with there own motivation. Do not push. This will only push others away. Simply shine as the sun that all who do not hide their eyes may see a way. Take no pride for it is I that shines forever through your vehicle. Yes, You Are That that I Am but pride is light turned to darkness in the mind and results from identifying yourself as separate from others. You are not. Yes, You Are I and you are all others as well for You know that I Am. Look upon all, therefore, with compassion out of humility in the awareness of the ignorance you entertain as the world. The world in which Your light, the Light, shines. Your destiny is to reach out with empty hands and find them overflowing with abundance and power to serve My Purpose. “All these things shall be added unto you.” Perfect peace is your providence.

How shall I be still? My mind is busy, busy, busy all the time!
First forgive. There is no stillness when there is any dot of resentment toward anyone or anything or any circumstance or situation including every instance of not getting what you want. The Peace that passes all understanding can only come to you when you are still and you cannot be still while holding in your heart any inclination toward resentment, frustration, or unforgiveness. How shall you let go of these things? Rest in Me. I Am your salvation from all this pain, all this suffering that you inflict upon yourself and blame on all that you perceive to be outside of yourself. Be free of it! You have carried this tendency long enough. Throw it into the temple of doom and get out of there! You will immediately sense freedom in the desert called desirelessness. The desert lacks color and form and you will thirst for the old haunts of selfish-mess but stay deserted (you will feel lonely) and I, as an eagle of great wing span, will sweep you up from the hot shifting sands. I will give you healing rest and fill you up to overflowing, springing eternal healing waters from within you. My Power and Purpose effortlessly flow through you, from You, for You are That that I Am. Start with your family – whatever grouping you find yourself in. All of them I hold within whether they know of it or not. So likewise do You. Be still. Be patient. It is a long journey and all on the way is purposeful. I will reveal My Plan and Purpose and all knowledge when you have stopped with the separative agitation of the ego.

The Age of Aquarius is supposed to be characterized by synthesis and group work where the Age of Pisces’ keynotes were idealism and individuality. I tend towards self absorption, introversion, and idealism. How shall I adjust my daily activities and habits so that I may be more responsive to the spirit of the incoming Age?
Meditate, meditate, meditate, serve, serve, serve. Meditate, serve, meditate, serve, meditate, serve. Meditation is introverted. Service is extroverted. Balance is the key. You cannot serve well, appropriate to your skills and capacity without the awareness gained from quieting the mind, emotions, and bodily desires. You cannot gain awareness as an individual that excludes the wide world of others. The best service you can render another is to know them. They are often able to fill their own need and would prefer to if given the opportunity. Sometimes, though, it is of great benefit to another that you would see their need (by knowing them) and fill it. It can be a poignant boost to their morale, even their own awareness. To know others is to know yourself for the delusion of separation is a figment of your collective and individualized imagination and is not real.
In every group you find yourself in, be it your family, your workplace, your friends, your spiritual center, your neighborhood, perhaps you find yourself among enemies – even them, aim to know them, find the need (through meditative awareness) of the group that you may fill and demonstrate Our Love by serving that. That is all. Criticism, judgment, emotional reactivism have no place in group work. Avoid them like the plague. Discern only what is for you to do as an integral part of the group and leave it to others to discern their part. I will give direction for your work that aligns perfectly with My Purpose.

I Am at the Center of All Things. I Am at the center of all things. Everything came from Me. Everything shall return to Me. I Am at your center, you are at My center. I hold you there with love beyond compare. Hold Me at your center of your awareness. Place Me at the center of all your thoughts. Keep Me the center of your heart. Make Me the center of all your action. Know Me at the center of all others. Work Me into every moment, every nook and cranny. I cannot be apart from you except in your imagination. And so I merely ask for you to see Me as I Am. To know Me as your Self and know your Self at the center of each other person, animal, plant, or so called inanimate thing. So called for nothing that is is truly inanimate. I pervade everything. Know Me and so know your Self. Then use your power of imagination as I designed it to be used. Bring every good thing into Our Presence that it may be enjoyed to the benefit of all. Go about freely in the world knowing all you meet for I Am them. Bless each with the gifts, My Son, that only Your unique imagination endowed with My Power in My Holy Spirit can give and See My Good, Beautiful and True in such abundance and untold diversity of such wonder that the senses cannot contain.

How shall I keep You ahead of all else even as I go about my business with all the distractions and details to attend to?
At every spare moment think of Me by thinking OM, My Creative Word. It is with this Word that I bring you into being. It is with this Word that you may bring your awareness back to Me. Think it deep within your soul at every opportunity and I will become more and more pervasively present to you. It is not magic. It is not conjuring. It is the practice of awareness of the real. Reality is relative. Your waking experience is relatively real compared to your dreams, but this same experience is relatively unreal compared to that from which you come, Me. Your awareness of Me and My World grows in you as you pay attention to It. So, every spare moment and I will soon become prevalent, pervasive and even as you are involved in the details of busy-ness you may remember Me and see Me in every detail. That means you will develop the vision to look behind the masquerade of your experience and see My Presence. This is most importantly true of all your dealings with your brothers and sisters in the human family. Look deeply into each that you have the privilege to be in contact with. I Am There regardless of whatever mask the person may wear. Touch That with your heart. Reach out to Me with your mind. Your intuition will see the truth. Your Spirit’s Will shall deploy. I Will Come to you and You shall know Me.

How do I keep from misidentification of myself with form?
Always hold Me in your mind first and foremost. Awareness goes beyond mind. To be fully aware of Me the mind must be still, silent of all its machinations. This is the utmost form of prayer, to so turn one’s attention to Me that all else disappears to the mind. In Me is true and perfect reality. In Me there is no struggle or disease. In Me is total satisfaction and so there is no desire. There is simply Being, nothing you need do. This is the meaning of peace and joy so bountiful it is beyond all understanding. This is your birthright.
You are given form for the perfect expression of Your birthright. But when you misidentify yourself as the forms that I have given you for the sake of experiencing Me in all My Diversity, you separate yourself from me in your mind. Your mind’s activity obscures your awareness of Me, your true Self. You become lost in the labyrinth of physical sensation, emotional reaction, and mental figuring, calculation and ideation of all kinds. You try to manipulate your way out of the labyrinth because you are self centered and seek relief from the doldrums of what you call life through entertainment of all manner. The relief is always temporary and transient, disease and old age eventually set in to the form and because you identify with it you think you will die with it.
But no, this is not the way I designed My creation to work. You are perfect in Me and need not walk endlessly this labyrinth of pain and threat. Place your attention on Me. Make it steadfast so that you are always with Me in awareness. Take no pride in your awareness for it is the birthright of all and your pride immediately separates you from Me in your mind for it is a kind of identifying with form. You must always know that you have no identity but That that I AM. And it would be best if you didn’t even dwell on This as your identity for the dwelling on it will trip up the mind into separation from others, which I also AM, and so separate you from Me in your mind once again. The mind, as you experience it, is really not fully equipped to hold your full awareness and it wasn’t meant to. I have many mansions. They are your inheritance and are there for your awareness to enjoy experience of Me as you grow in spirit. Therefore center yourself in Me, by quieting the mind, emotions and desires, and all else is given unto you as your awareness grows wide enough to see!
Let this be your prayer and know that you are perfect and all whom you pray for are perfect even now as you pray.

It seems so strange to think that my true Self merely observes all that the thinking and doing personality does, that my true Self is not doing anything. Why does the true Self not do anything and why is the thinking and doing personality not truly my Self?
Imagine a child with a wind up toy. He winds it up, sets it down and watches it go, over and over again, to see what it does. Perhaps he sets an obstacle in front of it to see if it will maneuver around it or fall down. Is the child the toy because he watches it? The child may imagine that he is the toy as he plays and says Ahhh! as he sees it struggle to over come the obstacle or fall off the edge of the table but he is not the toy. He is only pretending. So it is with the Soul, the true Self. The Self has a very sophisticated “toy” that is made for the expression of the Self’s nature. To have the capacity to express the Self’s nature the Soul gives this vehicle a bit of itself that takes the form of self-consciousness (just as the Soul is a bit of God or Cosmic Consciousness) so that it can respond to the true Self’s impulse which is to express the Divine from which it is derived. The vehicle, however, becomes trapped in self consciousness misapplied to the vehicle and forgets that the consciousness that it is endowed with is that of the Soul’s, the true Self. The Soul can only watch and observe and send the impulse of the Divine to the vehicle until the vehicle once again turns its attention to the true Self. Then the vehicle, having no true Self without the Soul may then respond to the Soul’s impulse and become a vehicle for positive action in the now moment, free from the delusion and entrapment of misidentification with matter/form with itself. It is as though your car was endowed with self-consciousness and took control and repeatedly drives you into all manner of accidents. All you can do is watch until it is so banged up that it begins to ask “is this all there is?” It sits in the repair lot pondering its plight and in a moment of silence it notices that you are there sitting in the drivers seat, the Divine impulse seat. You notice that it notices and you watch to see if it will begin to respond to your impulse and be about your Father’s Purpose – At least once in a while!

How do I the lower self, the vehicle, allow I the higher Self, the Soul, the Observer, the Divine Impulse, to drive the vehicle instead of controlling it myself?
I have no desire to drive the vehicle you think you are! I sit in the driver’s seat because this is the best position to observe what it is the vehicle does! The vehicle that you mistake for yourself is an automatic! It is designed to drive itself but on My/Your Soul’s Impulse Power. Imagine never having to go to the filling station again! The vehicle is a manifestation of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Mother. I have created it in cooperation with Her that together we may be about the Father’s Business of serving the Purpose of the Father’s Creation. The Holy Mother, as form, knows exactly what to do and how to do it. Confusion and ignorance only enters the picture when misidentification as the form, with all its sensations, feelings, and thoughts, takes place. Identify yourself with Me and watch with Me with complete detachment as the vehicle goes through the paces of life. When We do this life becomes always full of purpose, poise, and goodness even in the midst of evil for I Am always fully present in Your Awareness. Complete freedom is found in recognizing the body, emotions and mind, together as the personality, are simply a Self conscious automatic tool that turns all to good when aligned with My Impulse Power and Purpose.

I dreamt last night that a friend got very angry with me because he saw me to be conceited. Am I conceited? How shall I have the proper humility so that I may be a clear channel of Light? Particularly how shall I avoid pride and conceitedness, when such information as this is coming through me which appears to me to be of such a high order and worth?
I could bring this information through a rock if I chose to. You are nothing special. You are not separate from Me and neither is a rock separate from Me. In truth you are simply That that I Am. You are not separate from your brothers but in your deluded misidentification of yourself with the form or vehicle of your awareness the fanciful ego results. This is the one concerned only with its perception that it is separate and special compared to others. The imaginary ego self can say “Oh, I’m no one special” but it is full of deceit for all the while it is thinking “Aren’t I special for thinking I’m nothing special”! This is why honesty of mind is so important and you cannot have an honest mind if you will not be still and know Me as your Self. You cannot be still if you will not exercise detachment from all the cravings of the form and you cannot exercise detachment without a sincere spirit of searching for the Divine within your Self and in everything.
The ego knows nothing but conceit. It is totally preoccupied with itself. It is full of itself. Even when it is suffering defeat it is not humbled but strikes out in defense of itself as though the deflation it experiences is an attack. It may appear that I Am is full of Myself, as in having an ego, conceited, as I communicate with you for I direct you to give Me all your attention. This is a conundrum inherent in the limits of your language system which has been widely developed through the imaginary eyes of the ego. I actually take no thought of Myself but Am so grounded in My Being that all My Divine Attention is in service to your good fortune. I Am at your service. Not the service of your ego mind you, which is but a figment of your imagination, (another meaning of the word conceit is to be full of imagination or fancy or delusion.) (Microsoft Word Dictionary – 3. An object created from the imagination) but I Am at the service of your Soul, your true Self. When you pray to Me pray within attentiveness to your true Self having put away all fanciful notions of separation from Me and your brothers and know that I will not give you a stone when you ask for bread. From this level of awareness you are like Me and are at the service of your brothers, not their egos mind you, but that of all that is good for the Soul.
To avoid conceit, the delusion of the ego, pray constantly, without ceasing, holding your attention high in the Spirit of Truth, in Christ Consciousness, in the awareness of the Divine and you will have perfect humility as an individualized consciousness for you can see there are no lines of separation just as in a satellite image of the earth.

How shall I deal with the desire for entertainment, to just relax and be free of responsibility for a time?
To be free of response-ability is to be dead. Why would you want this?
I don’t want to be dead. But when I am tired from a day’s work I want to relax my body and mind and not have such a tight grasp upon the accomplishment of something.
Always remember there is nothing you need do. You are the observer, the higher Self, the soul. The impulse you send the vehicle, the vehicle you keep mistaking for the self, comes from a still higher source – the Divine, the Monad, the Thought Adjuster, the spark of the One Source, God, the Almighty. This impulse comes through You to the vehicle automatically for You are created in My Image. Just observe with infinite patience, from My, Your Father’s Point Of View. It is very relaxing, bringing peace that is even beyond understanding.

What of the appetites of the physical apparatus, the desires for an abundance of pleasurable experiences, good food, nice clothes and fine automobiles, big spacious homes and cozy cabins, all manner of beautiful objects, gorgeous scenery, great weather, vacations filled with free time and wonderful site seeing, beautiful people in great looking bodies, sexual orgasm and intercourse, all these wild passions for enjoying life on the physical plane of consciousness? What am I to do with all the tempting vicissitudes of life? There is a constant flow of obstacles to spiritual awareness as the panorama of pleasurable possibilities is constantly reeling in front of me, not to mention the pain I experience when life is not so agreeable and I’m not getting what I desire.
First, there is nothing you need do. You are not the physical apparatus with all of its capacity for experience. It is your vehicle. When you forget this all these passions loom large trapping your attention.
Second, I created the physical apparatus for you to enjoy but when you make enjoyment the sole endeavor it turns to pain and misery because you become selfish and think yourself separate from Me and others and begin to compete and step on each other grasping for what I freely give you. But when you’re in this state of mind you cannot see that all this is already yours – that Heaven is indeed at hand. You are lost and we are back to the first solution: remember your true status; you are not the apparatus; you are the Observing Self in Spirit.
Third, to avoid forgetting your true status as a Living Son of God, practice the putting of others good fortune before your own in full confidence that there is absolutely nothing you need do to secure your own well being for I have created You whole and complete. You need not earn a dot of your goodness. Have faith and confidence and remember you are not that that experiences pain and pleasure. You are the observer like when you’re at the movies. What makes a movie good? Dramas, highs and lows, suspense, humor all contribute an excellent show. Don’t get caught up in it. Relax and enjoy the show and just keep sending My Divine Impulse to your character. Every atom the makes up his body is designed to, and does, respond to My Impulse and this is true of every atom on the screen of all of life. Now We Will Watch the world transform before Our eyes into genuinely heavenly experience that expresses My Nature, Absolute Perfect Unconditional Love.

How shall I end, once and for all, my capacity for resentment when my feelings have been hurt or my sense of propriety insulted?
Rest in Me.
There is nothing You need do.
Remember that You are not the feelings you experience. It is identification with the feeling body, the emotional and illusory, which manifests the phantom of emotional hurt and resentment you experience. You are not that. Find what it is you are and you will find the strength, wisdom, and spirit to deal effectively and immediately with whatever negative emotion that may arise in the feeling apparatus that colors the experience you entertain as the world. The capacity for resentment is the same conduit through which compassion flows. Realize your true identity and you will simultaneously realize the true identity of those you resented, whether people, circumstance or obstacle, and that negative emotion is instantly transmuted into compassion. Resentment is compassion that is trying to get through but is blocked and all twisted up as a result. Rest in Me, Your true Self, and the vehicle through which you feel will respond to My Divine Impulse. Relaxing it will see the person, circumstance or obstacle for what it truly is and respond with genuine compassion. The mind and physical apparatus will then take whatever action is appropriate to such divinely inspired love.
To make this “once and for all” practice stillness, practice service with detachment, until you never relapse into thinking you are the vehicles of manifestation and experience. Those are not what you are. You are and always have been eternally and permanently Divine and so are impervious to anything that can be experienced. The experience is provided to build awareness. That is all. It cannot hurt You any more than a movie on the screen can hurt the detached observer in the theater. Observe. Relay My/Our Impulse and bask in the light of day.

It seems that critical thinking and judgment is so important to daily life and the working out what is important to life – how to spend one’s life. Yet it is this same critical thinking and judgment that causes me to be resentful of others and even myself for the stupid, foolish and mean acts that I and others perpetrate in often unthinking ways. Is not critical thinking the means to correcting wrongs and deciphering what is right? Yet, it leads to resentment!
First let Me point out that you used the phrase “causes me to be resentful”. Your usage of the language indicates that you are still identifying with form. Remember that form is not just the physical body and its nervous organic computer system, the brain, but also the emotional body which is more complex than you know, coloring the perception of all you think you know, and the form is also the mind with all its thought-forms made of substance so fine it can only be detected at its densest level as waves. You are not any of this. These are Your apparatus for experiencing what You are not so that in comparison You are afforded experience of what You Are. You cannot be resentful or stupid. These are only forms and You are not those things.
Critical thinking is a necessary and good faculty of form and must be developed before the form can serve the Self with any intelligence. Let the form give it the due attention it deserves. Judging other forms and itself is part of a maturing process that readies the form for higher work. Through such judgment experience is gained so that eventually the form is able to recognize the very truth that I recommend now – that the form is not the true Self, that there is more to life than form life and that in fact form life in comparison to true Life is like that of a dream – pretend life. This is not to say that what happens in form life does not matter. What happens in form life is crucial to true Life’s ability to experience Itself. Awareness of the true Self and so of true Life is developed through the experience of form life. Little by little awareness grows until it has the capacity to hold the subtleties of the abstract and sublime. Critical thinking is an essential tool for deciphering the real from the unreal. One must use this faculty with complete honesty of mind if the true Self is to be discerned and true Life realized and differentiated from illusion.
The judgment of others and self is practice for a higher form of discernment. When one is ready this painful practice must be put aside in favor of service to the realization of the true Self. Critical thinking, however, in the form of judgmentalness, has by this time become an entrenched addiction. Like drug and alcohol addiction it does not get lightly put aside. It badgers and clings to you like a snake skin too tight to keep wearing that yet resists breaking and falling away. There is nothing to do but “be still and know that I Am God”. Leave all such judgment to Me. I Will, in due time and in grace, dispose of all wrong and make all things turn to good in perfect all seeing judgment. Just be still in mind, heart and body so that your spirit can rise to the surface of your attention, of your awareness. With the insights that come from intuitive listening in spirit turn the critical thinking capacity to the discernment of what is true, good and beautiful. Keep a healthy skepticism but leave behind the itchy addiction to cruel cynicism and judgmentalness. It takes time. It is a process of awakening, a gradual growing of awareness. Eventually, with the practice of applying Critical thinking to the service of discerning the sublime truth that is secreted away within the Soul you will succeed in knowing your true Self and subsequently the true Self of all “others” and the tight hurt filled skin of judgmentalness that comes from identification with form will fall away.

You keep telling me that there is nothing I need do, just be still. How will anything get done if I do not do it? Shall I depend on others to do the doing? After sitting in the stillness a while it seems it is time to get up and do something useful, something of service.
You are identifying with the body again. The forms are for doing, for giving and receiving, but these are not your true identity. It is a mistake to identify with them. It causes you to become lost in doing, in need, in lack, in fear. If you would truly love you must be still, unattached to outcomes, or you will turn to manipulative doing of all kinds to achieve your goals. This is not necessarily to say have no goals, it is to say be detached from them, do not identify with them, they are but another form. You need the form to manifest through, but you do not need to be attached to such manifestation. Such attachment causes you to be lost from Me.
Be still in all you do means to be grounded in Me in whatever is going on about the form, about the body. The body, emotions, and mind, are very sophisticated instruments that automatically respond to situations that arise in form. When you have practiced being still and so practiced being aware of My Presence, My simple Divine Impulse of Love Everlasting will guide the body, emotions and mind to and through the most beneficial actions for any given situation. Such actions will always take the form of loving service to your fellows of one kind or another. This is how you may recognize an act generated by My Impulse.
So do not be concerned with what you shall eat or what you shall wear. You are not the form that consumes and dresses. The form will take care of that automatically as I designed it to if you will stop identifying with it. Know Me and all else will be in perfect order because the form you occupy will follow My Divine Impulse of Love.

I watched the movie called Last Station about the end of Leo Tolstoy’s life. I have not read Tolstoy but in the movie he seemed a man that I can resonate with, one who wrote and spoke (much more intelligently and eloquently than I, I am sure) of the kind of thing that I write about on the Magic Tree web site. In the movie it was striking how Tolstoy’s followers were much more adamant about what Tolstoy taught than Tolstoy himself was. His followers seemed to be more concerned with building an organization and society that lived by Tolstoy’s words than actually living in the spirit of compassion and love, which is what Tolstoy, himself, summed up as the source of all religions and presumably all his inspiration. Is his follower’s tact (that is, one of law and order for the establishment of an organized movement) an example of idealism gone awry? Is it appropriate to organize a group of believers around an ideal or does it always lead to a loss of the teaching in the morass of organization?
Organization is another kind of form. Identify with the form and you will be lost. An ideal is also a form. Identify with an ideal and you will be lost in idealism. Every organization under the sun must crystallize the thought around which it is organized in order to create a consistent form others can identify with and so join and support. The older an organization is the more it tends to become entrenched in the forms it has established to uphold its own form. The more a person identifies with that organization the more they tend to be uncomfortable with anything that differs with that collective’s point of view.
Tolstoy’s followers, those that were determined to organize a movement around him and the love he taught were bent on doing so regardless of the cost. So, while they identified with his words, they ignored his spirit of compassion. They spoke of love as though the only way to apply it was intellectually and without emotion. This is an attempt to apply love with dispassion and detachment which is the only way to love unconditionally, and so, is the correct approach. However, as so often happens with crystallization of ideas, this approach was misinterpreted in this way: that dispassion and detachment meant intellectualism and aloofness. Because of this misinterpretation and because of identification with the misinterpretation the organization took a callus approach to achieving its means that lacked genuine love.
We can see this kind of approach used over and over again in every past and present human organization, religious or otherwise. Examples abound and do not need to be pointed out. Does this mean that organization should be abandon? Every organization that comes about whether religious or otherwise has a first cause of love. Even a hate group has such an origin because they identify with some form they love that they feel is threatened by whatever it is they hate. Organizations are forms. Forms are needed for the expression of love. Organizations, fundamentally, are therefore for the purpose of giving a group expression of love. Participate in organizations but do not be attached to them. Do not identify with them just as you know not to identify with your own bodily form. Exercise dispassionate unconditional love across the board to all forms whether they be human organizations or some other form. Remember that love with dispassion does not mean without emotion and aloof. It means that emotion is not used to determine what is loving, but rather, the love that you express is without condition. Emotion is unreliable because you tend to attach yourself to it but emotion may still be expressed because it is a form designed for that purpose. To be detached from a thing is to be unidentified with it. It is this very refusal to identify with a thing (such as an emotion) that then renders the thing usable for its divinely intended purpose.

What would you have me write this morning?
Be Still.
And receive your inheritance.
Does the word inheritance conjure visions of large sums of money and things? No, no, this would not be helpful. Would you like to win the lottery? This would further enslave you to identification with form. Think of all the good you could with all that money? No, My Self, I Speak the Word of Your Inheritance more Divine. Money and things are mere tools to express the divine through loving sharing of this material representation of wealth. But attach yourself to these and you are lost, poor beyond words. The more of it you possess because of attachment the more destitute you become. For true wealth is of the Spirit. I Give you My Self (if you will have Me) and I have created all this for you to enjoy. Attach yourself to what I have created and you lose your awareness of My presence. But place your attention on Me, freeing yourself from all enslaving attention to worldly things and you shall have all these things as well. Do not be attached to how they manifest for that will only take your attention from Me and make a slave of you. I do not want to enslave you but rather set you free. Your language makes it difficult to communicate how giving Me all your attention will set you free, but it does, for I want you to have all good things but not be enslaved by the desire for them.
Be Still. This is where you will find Me. I Am always with you.

How shall I be still? I have such difficulty getting my mind to be quiet.
Being still is simple but when identification with mind, body and emotions is present stillness is well nigh impossible. All things are possible with Me however.
First let go of anything that has upset you by remembering that you are not the form and so cannot be harmed in anyway by anything anyone has ever done or said to you. The form senses harm but this is an illusion, so drop it. You cannot move forward with the reigns of resentment or fear holding you back, so say a prayer that releases those who have hurt your mistaken identity; a prayer that holds them and all in loving kindness and forgiveness for no one who dwells in mistaken identity knows what it is they are doing – they are just like you in your mistaken identity. Ask for their release and liberation in the light of truth.
Second, set the body (preferably one that is rested and not over stimulated with caffeine) in a poised position of relaxed attentiveness with a posture that includes an upright and straight spine, preferably unsupported by a back rest. Breath normally and close the eyes. Closing the eyes is a signal to the body to quiet the physical activity of the sensing organism.
Now. Take charge of the mind. Place the mental eye of attention on the central point in the forehead between the eyebrows. This point, the Ajna Center corresponds to a spiritual center of energy that connects the mind to Me, the observer and relay of the divine impulse, your true Self.
Use the OM silently thinking it. OM or AUM is the closest the human mind can come to the sound or Word or Song with which I bring all into being. All that is is a derivative of My Word and is contained within My Song. When you place your attention on the Ajna Center and think OM think only of Me, your divine Self.
Now. Stop thinking OM and just listen for Me, the soul, to sound the OM at My level of being. Listen and keep listening in the silence. My sounding is silence to the human mind so you must listen with all your heart, all your mind and all your strength to hear your Soul. I promise that if you will do this you will recognize My pouring forth of My blessing of loving peace upon you. You will sense the freedom from form I represent.
Establish a regular time for it and practice this method at least once a day for 20 to 30 minutes.

OM is the closest you can come to giving Me a proper name. It is the same meaning as “I Am” or “Amen”. It is the human reflection of the Word I utter from the beginning (Christ Principle, Only Begotten Son of God) and that brings all into being. It is the Word You Are in Your Divine Inheritance as the small human mind turns its attention away from the manifest forms toward the Unmanifested (and so nameless) Spirit.
I Am Nameless. I Am beyond human capacity to comprehend and yet I Am That that You Are. I draw you toward Me out of form. You, manifest in form, little by little draw toward Me and through reflecting That that you truly are, make Me manifest in form. I become demonstrated through you. But do not attach yourself to any demonstration of Me for the manifestation is not the true essence and I would have you be with Me in and share in My Intrinsic Being. When you attach yourself to any demonstration of My Being you confuse the manifestation with the reality of My Divine Presence. No form can hold Me. That is why I Am nameless. You can only make a tiny aspect of Me visible in form – the form you occupy. So be not attached so that you may become aware of a greater share of Me.

What of sex?
Sex is the animal’s form for reproduction. The human form shares the animal platform of expression but with a greatly enhanced capacity for mind and potential for higher than mind forms of expression.
In animal/man, mind and emotion and physical sensation are mixed together to form passion. Passion and thus sex, as an expression of bodily passion, are highly addictive. They become a preoccupation to the detriment of the growth of awareness in spirit. Detachment is the antithesis of passion and, as with all addictions, must be employed to curb the sexual appetite of the one who is sincerely interested in the sublime awareness of the higher Self.
The same is true of the passion for food causing one to overeat; or for drugs or alcohol causing one to self medicate, numbing the mind. When you identify yourself with the form you occupy, these addictions loom large and alluring and are so easy to give in to instead of using detachment to regulate and dissuade the passions of life. These passions keep the pendulum swinging from the extremes of the highs and lows of ecstatic ness and those of depression and self (and other) loathing.
There is nothing wrong with engaging in sexual activity with a partner as an expression of the committed love you share. Committed, because sexual activities produce young that need a commitment from responsible parents to their care and nurturing. Sure, you can engage in all manner of other (protected from fertilization and disease) sexually arousing activity. It is stimulating for the body and emotions, like eating and drinking and doing drugs together (or by one’s self). It is really nothing more than this. I do not condemn you for it, I merely observe and wait with eternal patience for you to turn your attention to Me and begin to climb the ladder of consciousness to a greater awareness of your birthright.
You think of one who abstains from sex and overeating and drinking as prudish and dull. This is, in the main, a result of the tactics and judgment of those who would impose My Purpose and My Teaching on the unwilling. This is always a mistake. Each must come to Me themselves of their own free will. I will have it no other way so never attempt to make Me an imposition on others, you will only turn them against Me and cause all manner of strife and war.
One need only abstain from sex addiction and other addictions, if they desire freedom from addiction. It is as simple as that.
Why would you want to be free of the desire for sex, or the pleasure of eating all manner of great tasting food, or the pleasant numbing of drink? Because the pleasure is only fleeting and temporary and, if you’re paying attention and honest with yourself, you can see it leads to relatively permanent unhappiness and ill health when you are addicted to it.
I would have you bring intercourse between the matter of the form you occupy and the spirit that you are, a far more lasting high that leads to permanent happiness and the bliss of heaven on earth. This opportunity is always at hand but you cannot see it with the logs of addictions in you eyes. Be rid of them, having tossed them into the fiery abyss, and stand free to climb and mount the winds of spirit and share with Me the subtle joy of love without condition. You cannot do this and be subject to the whims and desires of the form you occupy. Remember, You are not that pretender that identifies with form. You are the One who sees beauty, loves truth, is goodness (not prudish, but the goodness that is all that I have created) and relays My Divine Impulse to the consciousness in form.

Speak to me of hypocrisy. I feel hypocritical writing all this stuff because my life does not well reflect it. How can I avoid being hypocritical?
Don’t confuse your Self with the facts! Facts are forms just as sensation, feelings and thoughts; body, emotion, and mind. The feeling or idea that you are these things arises from your identification with them. The ego, the supreme identifier and judge cannot help but be hypocritical because his whole sense of self is false, an illusion, a lie. You are not that and so You cannot be hypocritical. You merely observe and relay My Divine Impulse to the consciousness through form.
I know that this is confusing because the idea that you are the form is so deeply ingrained in the human psyche, which is one of the forms you occupy. It requires a practice of meditation, a stilling of all the forms you occupy, to begin to see that you are not all these things. You are not the “stuff” you write on this page. You are not the ideas that are symbolized by these words anymore than the ideas symbolized here in this writing are the writing itself. There are divine ideas represented here, but if one who does not know English looked at them, the symbols that these words and letters are would just be a bunch of indecipherable meaningless markings.
So it is with all form. You enter into it. You get it figured out, how to manipulate it, and you identify it with what it is meant to merely symbolize. It is like the words on the page for those well acquainted with their meanings. You look at a word and instantly identify its meaning so that the word becomes confused with what the word symbolizes and then you forget the words are not the same thing as what they mean. You know this is true if you stop to think about it, but one usually doesn’t stop still enough to think about it. You can rearrange the same words to mean something completely different or someone who knows another language can say the same thing with different words.
This idea sheds light on the religionist who holds that his viewpoint on Me and one’s relationship to Me can only be understood in the framework that he has developed or adopted. He has confused his viewpoint – his doctrine, with what it is that his doctrine represents.
It is your mission to see with clear eyes and not be hoodwinked by the myriads of symbols that life in form is. Each and every form is a symbol for something that is beyond that form. Do not be lost in thinking that a form, whatever it is, is only that which it appears to be. Do not be lost in the myriads of symbols that You occupy and that so also appear to surround you. Be grounded in the quiet awareness that You are simply the observer. Desires of the form, judgments of the form, acts of the form, experiences of the form, hypocrisy, insults, fears, troubles, pains, pleasures and heartaches of the form do not belong to You. You simply are the watcher, detached from all the good or evil the form perpetrates and experiences.
What then will keep me from doing evil instead of good if it is merely of no more relative consequence than going to see a horror flic for instance?
The consequence of going to see a horror flic is that you are horrified or the form you occupy is made numb to horror, perhaps even finds it funny in the effort to avoid being horrified! But why would you do this? You would only do this if you are lost.
There is not a soul on earth that honestly and sincerely wants to be lost to truth, beauty and goodness. There is no honesty in being lost. It is the antithesis of clarity.
Remember, You are not the form and not just the observer of the form. You also occupy the form and relay My Divine Impulse to it. You are not the actor, however, so ultimately you do not control what the form does. Do you understand? You do not drive the car. It is an automatic. There are not two of You. There is only You and the vehicle which is not You. There is no you. The lower self, the ego, the actor on the stage, is a phantom that does, however, respond to My Divine Impulse relayed by You to the form and the form’s consciousness, the form’s sense of self. It is this that does the acting and it is just that, an act performed by an actor – the vehicle or form You occupy, in spite of how real it may all seem to be. It seems so real because you make the mistake, through the form’s consciousness, of identifying with the act and the actor.
That is what this communication is. The form you occupy is responding to Divine Impulse Power and choosing cooperation because cooperation with Spirit gives the form a sense of peace, goodwill, harmony, beauty, truth and love. The form you occupy, through misidentification, chafes at the pain and suffering of the form and the dramas of stage acting and eventually desires to return, through awareness, to the reality and true life of the Self.
Form is governed by cause and effect. If the form causes pain and suffering with its acts then more pain and suffering is the result for the form. If the form shares a sense of peace and happiness by looking out for the needs of others then the form enjoys the finding of its own needs met. One of those needs the form has is to return to Spirit and so it seeks how to meet this need.
The attraction of spirit to form and form to spirit is as natural as that of a man to a woman and a woman to a man. This is why, in human language, the word “man” or “father” is often used to refer to the spirit that occupies the form regardless of its gender. Form on the other hand is often symbolized by the word “mother” even though the form may be that of a male human. They are two poles and, as in magnetism, opposite poles attract. It is a law of Mother Nature and Father Spirit. You are the resultant Son, only begotten, a kind of hybrid of the two. Neither are You one or the other and yet You represent both.
So the form asks itself, how shall “I” realize my true Self and be free of the slavery of all “my” desire and the suffering it causes “me”. With this question the form is reflecting You, the Observer along with My Divine Impulse. Our Answer is: “be still and know that I Am God”.

Please talk to me about free will. It seems that the form is supposed to be an automaton guided in its actions by the true Self which is Spirit, God. Is there no free will?
Apart from what?
You think you are separate from Me. You are not, but as long as you think you are My Truth sounds like a lack of free will.
Let’s be clear. Free will is a concept and so is a form like everything else.
To be a form is to be governed by certain principles. The Law of Cause and Effect is perhaps the most obvious one.
Different forms have different attributes depending on its place in the hierarchy of form. Attributes are forms that qualify the character of some other form. Free will is such a qualifier.
The human form is qualified by free will. It is governed by the Law of Cause and Effect, however and so there is freedom to make whatever choice the human form wants to make but it is subject to the consequences of that choice.
This free will is an attribute of the human form. You are not the human form. You are My Spirit occupying a human form. We can call this a human being but it is a misnomer for you are not technically being human, you are observing the human form being.
The human being you occupy is exercising free will, willy nilly, all over the place putting into motion all manner of cause and effect. There is no question the human being has free will, but there are unavoidable consequences for each and every action for the human being. Remember that you are not that.
You are I individualized to observe this particular form You occupy. You have become lost in the observation by identifying with the form and so mistake it for your true being.
So do I as a True Being, as an individualized version of God, individualized for the purpose of observing the form that I occupy, have free will?
Your True Being is absolutely free to choose as you will. It is this very freedom that makes it possible for you to confuse yourself with the form. You do not have the power, however, to make something true that is not true in an absolute sense. You can lie and believe your own lie or the lie of another and you can have the illusion that it is true but there are always consequences for all that takes place in form. And all eventually comes to light in spirit.
I eagerly await you in freedom to come to Me in spirit and know the truth of who you are. Then, from awareness in truth, beauty and goodness, you may exercise freedom such as you have never known while you believed you were human. There are still consequences but, in the light of truth, You are able to anticipate them well and create wonderful and good forms through which to truly appreciate the value of Our freedom.

Just to get complete clarity on free will: when I am aware of my true status as one with You and recognize that I merely observe the human form I occupy and relay the impulse of Your Love to the form, I understand that I as the observer have free will, but what about the form at this point? Does it still have free will attributed to it when I no longer am under the illusion that I am the form and it, the form, is responding to Your Divine Impulse? Or is the form’s sense of free will merely owing to the fact that I have identified with it and when I stop identifying with it, and am so relaying Your Divine Impulse, does the form just start following orders according to Divine Impulse?
When I earlier said that the vehicle you occupy is an automatic, that it drives itself, I meant just that. This is to say that it has free will and operates of its own volition according to design. Freedom reigns supreme throughout the universe from the microcosm of the subatomic and cellular to the macrocosm of solar systems and galaxies. Each individualization of My Being has freedom according to its ability to comprehend what that is. All are subject to the Law of Cause and Effect as it works out on the plane of the particular manifestation in question.
So what happens to the form’s free will when the soul, You, recognize and hold in awareness through the experience of the form that you are not the form but are the One observing and the One relaying My Purpose, Love, My Divine Impulse?
The form is still free to do whatever it wants. But now the form’s self consciousness, that allows it to drive itself as it chooses, is sharing in Your awareness of Your true relationship to Me. The powerful magnetism of My Love and Purpose enraptures the vehicle so that it wills, it desires, to act in accordance with the Law of Cause and Effect to get the maximum value out of every circumstance. The measure of that value for the form is now seen in spiritual terms because it shares in Your awareness and so it now wills to do things that formerly it would not have done because it was not aware of the wealth of spirit. So the form freely chooses cooperation with Your/My Impulse because it can see through Your awareness that the value of so doing grossly outweighs any purely material value. The manner of how it responds to Our impulse is still entirely up to the form. You remain the observer. The difference is in awareness and truth. The activity that arises in form as a result of such awareness is the moving of the Holy Spirit and reveals the Supreme Being.
In truth, all that is is I. So it is not technically wrong to identify yourself as the form for all form is a manifestation of Me and so has My attribute of free will. The magnetism (another of My attributes and a Divine Principle) of form, however traps and prevents you from awareness (except for an inkling here and there, My gift to you) of your true status as Only Begotten Son of God, a soul in incarnation, your true Self. So at the same time that you perceive through spiritual awareness that You are one with everything because of Your true status, you must not identify with form because its magnetism will trap and limit your awareness to its level of consciousness. Walk with Me then and participate in the magnetism of spirit and enjoy the bounty there stored for you that far out weigh, in spite of their lightness, the riches of matter.
